Overview
Muse is a personal wellness companion. We collect and store the data needed to provide the app: your account email, profile and onboarding responses, daily check-ins, journal entries, Muse chat conversations, saved reflections and quotes, life moments, Pathway intentions and reflections, theme and notification preferences, subscription status, and app usage analytics such as app sessions, screen visits, feature taps, completion events, and time spent in each main area of the app.
If you use Agora, Muse also stores your handle, avatar, profile bio, posts, comments, loves, saves, blocks, reports, and related notifications. If you upload an avatar or canvas image, that image is stored so it can be shown in the app.
Storage and Security
Your data is stored locally on your device and synced to our cloud servers hosted by Supabase. Your account is protected by email authentication and data is isolated to your account using row-level security policies.
AI-Powered Features
Muse includes AI-powered features using Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI. When you use Muse chat, voice, dictation, or AI-guided reflection features, the messages, audio transcription, or reflection text you submit may be sent to Anthropic or OpenAI together with recent relevant excerpts and a compact context summary from your account so responses can feel continuous and personalized.
That context may include profile and onboarding responses, optional deeper-context answers, daily check-in trends, active and recently honored intentions, practice history, saved-item counts, recent Pathway reflections, brief excerpts from recent journal entries, and recent life-moment notes.
Muse also uses AI to summarize conversations and extract key facts and invitations from conversations, such as names of people you mention, places, dates, life circumstances, personal goals, safety signals, and suggested in-app practices. These summaries, memories, invitations, and extracted references are stored within your account and may be reviewed by authorized Muse personnel for safety, quality improvement, debugging, and product analysis. They are included in account deletion.
Analytics
We use analytics to understand how people move through Muse: drop-off points, average session time, time spent by tab, check-in frequency, practice completions, and similar product signals. We do not track what you type and erase, and analytics events are designed not to duplicate raw journal text, raw chat messages, or other free-form private content.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use health or wellness data for advertising. We do not use tracking technologies or advertising identifiers and we do not engage in cross-app tracking.
Community Safety
Agora includes user-generated posts, comments, and profiles. We use automatic filters to reduce objectionable material before posting. Users can report posts or profiles for review, block other users, and contact us about safety concerns.
Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You may delete your account from the app's Settings screen. Deleting your account permanently removes your account data from our servers and your device, except where retention is legally required.
If you have an active App Store or Play Store subscription, deleting your Muse account does not automatically cancel store billing.
Children's Privacy
Muse is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are under 18, please do not use Muse.
